About Nancy Nickerson
Artist/Designer/Teacher
Design. Fine Art. History were the subjects i studied at The University of Maryland, UCLA and The American Film Institute. My first career was in the fields of music, fashion, television and film. After my daughter was born I opened my design firm, Monet's Gardens Home and Garden Design, and later, Monet's Gardens Studio and Gallery in Los Angeles. Curating and directing the first wave of pop up art galleries in off site spaces like sound stages and restaurants. Today I spend my time painting the landscapes, people, children and pets I love, and teaching and traveling.

A painting tells a story of the painters and the viewers passions in life: what we are attracted to, and what we long for. I call my self an expressionistic impressionist, telling the story of love and longing whether it be for a beloved pet, child, lover, a view of the ocean, or gazing at the sun, the moon and the stars...the romance in life.
